What does Success mean?
The word “Success” can conjure up as many different images as there are colours in the world.
Depending on your personal experiences, stage of life, wealth and much more you may define this differently. Thus, we need to spend some time explaining our definition:
We will start with a quick list of things that are not success. This is not to say these things make you unsuccessful but to say these things alone are not success.
- Raising venture capital
- People knowing your brand
- Having famous board members, team members or investors
- Going through a specific incubator
- Being used by a famous company or a high volume of users
- Having a well read blog, email, social account etc…
Some of the variables we will consider as success include:
- Revenue Threshold
- Time to first customer
- Growth rate
- Founder return
- Investor return
- Capital invested
- Time to profitable outcome
- Time to exit (if applicable)
